A Star is a type of Astronomical objects consisting of a luminous spheroid of plasma held together by its on gravity. The nearest star to the Earth is the Sun which is 1 AU(150 million kilometers) away from Earth. Aproximately there are 400 billion stars in the milkyway galaxy and there billiontrillion stars in the known universe and number of stars in the universe is currently unknown.
The stars are classified into 10 group's which are Super gaint , Bluegaint, Redgaint, neutron star's, yellow dwarf, Brown dwarf, white drawf and black dwarf. Our sun belongs to yellow dwarf group.
The stars are self luminous bodies in the outer space. The stars glows due to the thermonuclear fusion in its central core of hydrogen into helium, release the energy as radiation into the outer space.
A star is born inside the gigantic clouds of hydrogen and dust from the dieing of other star's which are known us molecular could, these regions are extremely cold about 10 to 20 k gust absolute zero which collide due to the self gravity and forms as a star. Such clouds mostly give birth to several stars in a life time but the astronomers never See's such events untill now.
